Unpacking Race and Racism: Becoming White Allies 2.0

April 24

Are you a white person who is disturbed by matters of race and racism in the United States? Being disturbed is a good thing. It means your intellect recognizes injustice and unfairness and your heart is feeling the resulting pain. Psychology tells us that the most effective means of handling pain is to move into it and through it.

The AntiRacism Institute offers a safe and supportive way for you to deal with the injustice of racism. Sitting at the feet of a Black man, Emmanuel Acho, author of Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man, a trained facilitator will guide you through uncomfortable conversations as you learn what you didn’t know you didn’t know. You’ll progress through a proven path of racial awareness, racial literacy, and racial action. Graduates from “Unpacking 2.0” engage in a racial equity project (your own or with a group) equipped with the core competencies of a white ally.  You’ll find YOUR answer to the question …

“As a white person, what can I DO?”
