Youth of Unity

Unity's teen ministry strives to be a place of unconditional love and acceptance for teens of all ages. The group is teen-led, and adult guided. Besides offering a safe place for teens to explore their spirituality and to develop connections with other like-minded youth, they also have an opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills in a spiritual context.

Sunday Mornings

Our teen groups meet at 11:00 AM each Sunday for Sunday worship. All are welcome! These teen group gatherings are often led by one or more of the teens. These Sunday morning gatherings include song, sharing, a lesson, a meditation, and other activities.

Outside Fun and Activities

Our Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) programs augment spiritual education with a variety of fun social activities and service projects.

Here are some typical activities of our teen group:

Movie nights — Enjoy an evening at church for pizza and a movie.

Outings — These have included a variety of fun activities such as beach parties. The monthly teen social nights have also included rock climbing and laser quest.

Service projects — One of the favorites is the annual holiday caroling and gift giving at a local nursing home.

Lock-ins — Overnight gatherings at the church are fun, social and spiritual.

Regional weekend gatherings — Larger gatherings of teens from around California and beyond, get together for spiritual growth, development of leadership skills, and connecting in an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance.

National conference — Each summer, hundreds of teens gather at Unity headquarters from various Unity churches, for a week of spiritual growth and connection.

Y.O.U. Sunday — Once a year our teen group organizes Sunday morning church services, including the music, meditation, and the Sunday lesson.
