Right before Our Eyes is the title of Rev. Karyn Bradley’s talk this past Sunday. She spoke about not just hearing about Unity principles and Truth teachings but living them. We live them by creating opportunities to be reminded of them.
We all need reminders to live from a deeper place. We all need those reminders that we are enough, in fact, we are the Christ! We are the living expressions of God which in Unity we refer to as the Christ. So, we stop and we remember who we are and who we came here to be. In fact, reminders are right before our very eyes.
Karyn gave us some tools to remind us, one of which was the Sunday bulletin. The bulletin has been revamped and has a new look. But how many knew the bulletin was actually a spiritual tool? It is organized so that a glance at the cover is all we need to bring us back to center: the principle, the scripture, the quote and the practice are all there-right before our eyes.
If we want to change our lives, we have to change our daily practices. It is so easy to become distracted in this world. We have more distractions than ever before. Why not use technology or our distractions to remind us to go within or to pray, or to be grateful, or to see the Christ in ourselves or others.
Unity Palo Alto’s ministerial team has made it easy for us, just look at the bulletin and know that there is a different way to be, that we can internalize these principles and live from them more fully. We just have to remember we are the Christ-it’s our job, it’s who we are and who we have come here to be.
