Message from your Prayer Chaplains
July, 2007
Chaplains Emeritus
Our loving gratitude goes to our first group of Chaplains Emeritus
Vicky Lawson, Joan Lewis, Greg Hargrove, Diane McBain, and Annie Pulse.
These blessed souls have devoted the past year to serving in our current Prayer Chaplain program.
Our Prayer Chaplains dedicate themselves to serving for a one-year period and ongoing training
is required annually for both new and returning Chaplains.
As the year comes to a close, each Chaplain takes time for prayer and reflection and discerns whether or not they
are guided to continue for another year. If they decide not to continue, they become a Chaplain Emeritus.
Our Chaplains Emeritus have an important role at Unity Palo Alto.
They will continue to hold sacred space for our church and our congregation and may be sought for prayer
and guidance by new or returning Chaplains.
They may offer prayer at any time in response to a request by a congregant, be asked to present at Chaplain training
or monthly meetings and participate during World Day of Prayer.
Wellness Calling
Our Prayer Chaplains make phone calls to church members on a regular basis to see how they are doing and to offer prayer.
As our new team of Prayer Chaplains begins their Wellness calling in July, we will be calling members bi-monthly.
Monthly calls can still be made, so if you would like a call each month, please let your Chaplain know.
