Unity in Prayer

Prayer circle

Prayer is an inseparable part of spiritual life. At Unity, prayer is an offering to God and a service to our fellow human beings. Prayer in its purest and simplest form is simply letting go of human will and perception to allow our mind and heart to be filled with the Divine. It is here that one can become receptive to the "still small voice" of God.

Sunday Prayer Circles
The Unity Prayer Ministry leads the prayer circles after the 8:45 AM and 11:00 AM services in the sanctuary prayer room and they are available after the prayer circles to pray with you for any special needs. You are invited to join our Prayer Circle following each of the Sunday morning services.

Prayer Request
You may submit a prayer request for yourself or for loved ones. These prayer requests will be held in prayer by Unity Palo Alto's Prayer Panel for 30 days, then they will be forwarded to Silent Unity for an additional 30 days of prayer.

Prayer Line
For an inspirational recorded message and to contact the Prayer Ministry, leave your name and phone number on our 24-hour Prayer Line at 650-849-1111. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.

Silent Unity
Silent Unity is a worldwide prayer ministry that, for over 100 years, has been in continuous prayer with people of all faiths. Through times of war, peace, depression, and prosperity, the prayer vigil in Silent Unity's chapel and the brightly shining beacon atop its tower have continued uninterrupted.

The name Silent Unity refers to the spiritual core at the heart of all people. This spirituality, which transcends all religions, is our link with each other and with God. It represents a oneness — a unity. And we can best access this spiritual unity through the silence of prayer.

Silent Unity's toll free phone number is 1-800-669-7729.
International callers can call 01-816-969-2000.

Book of Prayers
These are Unity's best known prayers.

Since its inception in 1889, the foundation of the Unity Movement has been prayer. One of our most fundamental beliefs is in the power of prayer to transform any person, any circumstance. The prayer vigil held at Unity Village has been continuous for at least 110 years. The vigil itself is held by a person praying in the Silent Unity Chapel. In addition, every day at 11 o'clock at Unity Village, a series of chimes is played on the speaker system. With the commencing of the chimes, everybody stops where they are and joins in a moment of prayer during which one hears the voice of Charles Fillmore, a co-founder of Unity, praying the Lord's Prayer.
