Support Teams
Unity Palo Alto Community Church relies upon the generous
volunteer efforts
of so many of us in a variety of support roles.
These dedicated people provide assistance that is essential to our Sunday services.
- Ambassadors Team
- The ambassadors round out the Sunday teams by filling in wherever they are needed.
(If you would care to help this team, it offers a great opportunity for variety and a chance to try out various volunteer positions.)
- Audio Team
- The audio team amplifies our ministry, working behind the scenes during the
Sunday services, Wednesday services, and at special events when needed.
They mic the speakers, operate the sound equipment, and produce tapes
using the duplicating equipment.
They make it possible to have tapes ready by the time the Sunday service is over.

- Prosperity Team
- Prosperity counters are responsible for counting the offerings received
during services.
They assist in the Church's prosperity by blessing the gifts and the givers.
- Usher Team
- Our ushers set a warm and loving atmosphere for all the congregants and visitors
as they arrive in the Sanctuary.
They supply information and support the ministers during the Sunday services.
- Welcome Team
- The welcome team provides a warm and welcome environment for all who come to church.
This is a very special ministry that touches literally hundreds of people.
Besides being greeters before services, welcome team members also provide
coffee following the services.
- Youth and Family Welcome Team
- This team welcomes families at the Youth Registration table as they arrive
at church.
They also assist new families with information about our youth ministry programs.
- Youth Ministry Team
- Unity has a highly active, spiritually oriented youth program that serves
all ages, infants through twelfth graders.
Team members can also assist with the Youth Choir.
Team members exude the love of children,
the desire to grow spiritually, and the ability to help provide a
loving and nurturing environment for the children.

The bookstore team provides sales and assistance before and after Sunday services.
Our church bookstore provides best-selling metaphysical books,
difficult to find Unity classics, spirit filled music, and wonderful gifts.
- Sunday Assistants
- Provide sales and customer service before and after services.
- Weekdays/Evenings
- Assist the bookstore manager with daily operational functions,
displays, and inventory that make the bookstore run smoothly and efficiently.
- Classes/Special Events
- Provide sales and customer service during classes and special events.
Prayer is at the heart of Unity.
This ministry team provides prayer support for those in need.
Members monitor the prayer line, do hospital visits, and pray with congregants
after church on Sunday mornings.
- Dazzle Team
- The dazzle team consistently dazzles the congregation by decorating
the church for special holidays and events.
The team members help the congregation feel the spirit of the seasons while
we all benefit from their creativity.
- Fun Events Team
- This team creates fun church wide events such as Community Fun Nights,
the Christmas Party, the Easter Party, the Church Picnic, and
the Unity Camp in June.

Help create wonderful, entertaining churchwide events.
There are many ways to help in big or small ways.
- Mailing Team
- This on-call team meets a few times a year to assemble special mailings
for the church.
- Newcomers Team
- This team follows up with newcomers to help them become a part of the church.
- Office Support Team
- This team's members have found a great way to be involved in the weekday affairs of the church.
Team members help in the office on weekdays by answering phones,
doing small tasks, and answering general inquiries from visitors or callers.
Team members provide the depth and breadth needed to support the numerous
administrative tasks in the church offices.

There are a variety of jobs available, with flexible hours.
- Publications/Duplication Team
- This team's members get the word out by duplicating and folding
the Sunday bulletins, the CommUnity News church newsletter,
and special event programs.
Flexible hours and independent work make this a terrific opportunity! No technical experience needed.
- Special Events Team (S.E.T.)
- This team supports the church by providing assistance for all
special workshops and classes, such as sign-in, materials distribution, clean-up
and securing space at the end of an event.
- Teen Ministry
- Our teen ministry is an active group for young people to be themselves
in an atmosphere of unconditional love.
They learn Unity principles, develop leadership skills, and make important connections.
Adult volunteers give support and guidance.
- Web Site Team
- The web site is supported by Bob Donnelly.
All changes to content are coordinated through Unity Palo Alto's office manager, Michael Clemons.
